Prevent Mac Office Pompting For User Password
Posted : admin On 11.01.2019We are trying to disable the 'remember password' option in Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 across our organization because our users keep forgetting their passwords.and when it comes time to change thier passwords (every 90 days) we get in influx of tickets for resets because users don't recall what their old password is. Office 365 keeps prompting for login credentials within Mac OSX? I came across a problem where a client of mine had bought and installed Office Suite 2016 she than upgraded to Office 365 Business Premium.

I am using office 2013, we a currently in process of migrating into office 365. So far we have 3 users out of 50 migrated and set up using outlook, the information entered into the outlook wizard is definitely correct, although when starting outlook it show that the mailbox is connected, but give it 2 minutes and password prompts, every few seconds, i have tries all of these fixes on the forum and none have corrected my problem Nightmare 🙁 but my emails are sending and receiving perfectly fine, just annoying credential box popping up all time. I struggled with the multiple password prompts issue while trying to use an Outlook.prf file to auto-configure users profiles when they login to Outlook the first time in a XenApp 6.5 environment on Windows 2008 R2. We are using Outlook 2013 Pro Plus – Volume License Version (the only version you can use in an RDS or Citrix XenApp environment).
We kept telling them such but got sucked in to the charge which we will fight.
I tried them one by one then I struck lucky I typed in this password which I new that it wouldn`t work but to my surprise it worked. How I can to the desktop without these passwords. In system preferences you can change it,but it says then you will have to remember two passwords. (Your Outlook and AT&T pass may have to match.) I wonder if it’s a dirty trick by AT&T so they get people signed on to their service unnecessarily. It is not an Outlook software problem.
The pup-up asking for password keeps appearing and won't accept password. Is there a true fix for this? The issue most certainly is NOT resolved. Happened to me countless times in the past hour. Has been on on-going issue for me ever since I installed Outlook 2016 on my Windows 10 laptop over a year ago now. As I have several different email accounts, I have Outlook configured to poll all accounts for new mail every minute. Sometimes I think this issue has gone away as I may not be prompted for password sometimes for several weeks.

All of my office activation problems have been resolved by closing all office applications and either going into any office application (it doesn't matter which one just make sure it is the only one running) and going to file> Office Account and logging out the current user and logging in the new one. If that doesn't fix it close the application and right click and run as an administrator and then do the same thing. I have not noticed any problems related to the original office accounts license status. Just as long as the new account has an E3 it works. My company has a lot of turn over and new hires so I am very frequently changing the users associated with the office pro plus install and I have not encountered any client side problems that those two steps haven't resolved.
Does this sound familiar to anyone else? Now, wouldn’t it be a godsend if you had the magical powers to do an Office 365 password reset (or an OWA password reset) right there at the login prompt? Honestly, why is it so difficult to bring self-service to Office 365 Password Reset or OWA Password reset? Those are rhetorical questions. The Resolution I’m sure there are plenty of good reasons why is not a default function in Office 365 or OWA. However, the point I’m trying to make is that there is help for this small oversight.
