In Acrobat X Pro, whenever I make a change to a document, I can no longer just save the changes to the original file. Instead, I get a message that says: “This document could not be saved. What if Acrobat had a button in the view menu called “tools” where every available tool shows up in one drop-down menu. Then the user selects/deselects the desired tools for his or her toolbar, clicks okay, and sees only those icons on the toolbar, with the option for click-and-drag rearranging. And, have those settings remain in place even after a software upgrade. What’s wrong with that? I for one don’t need your interface designers’ cleverness getting in my way. I’m busy and I don’t need excess baggage weighing me down.

Try the following solutions: Enter the card number correctly. Do not enter spaces or dashes. If your card has a security code, enter it correctly on the payment screen. Make sure that the name and billing address on your order match the name and billing address on your credit card. If you use a corporate card, use the name and billing address of the cardholder, not the purchaser. Check with the cardholder or your accounting department to verify the name and billing address. Apple Preview can generate perfectly good PDFs and is more than adequate for the vast majority of users. PDFClerk can do things Acrobat could never dream of. I have no experience of Acrobat Reader on the Mac so I can't comment on that. I do, so I will comment. It is slow, bloated, and very poorly written software. It must be updated weekly due to cross-platform security flaws that are actively being exploited. Even if you do install it to use some Adobe-only feature, you may wind up having to run Acrobat in Windows because the Mac version's output is so bad.

You are correct, Acrobat reader does not create anything on it's own. However Acrobat 5 does lots to further create and alter documents. Case in point - Acrobat 5 creates forms on documents that have been converted to PDF from other word processor applications.

Why does Acrobat do this? Does this mean that every time I insert multiple pages into a document when creating an e-book, I have to name the pdf's backwards so that Acrobat can sort them backwards and then they will be in the correct order? I have tried the 001, 002 003 naming scheme and also 1.pdf, 2.pdf, 3.pdf. 10.pdf 11.pdf, also a.pdf, b.pdf, c.pdf. Aa.pdf, ab.pdf etc all with the same results. It's very frustrating that Acrobat not only inserts pages backwards, but also does not have any sort command to re sort pages that were inserted out of order.

I'm confused. You don't know how to do it any way other than the way that it works? I also can not figure out how to add another page to an existing pdf file. Open a PDF in Preview, show the Sidebar, and drag another PDF onto the document icon in the Sidebar. It will change into a multi-page document icon. Save the PDF as a new multi-page PDF.
